UWA Club Awards Point System
Over the past 3 season the UWA Triathlon Club Committee has attempted to refine the Club Awards Point System such that it is inclusive of all members. The main guidelines followed are:
• Races close to Perth to allow all members to compete
• A variety of race distances to ensure sprint and long course athletes have an opportunity to show their abilities
• WA State championship events
• Junior & senior events on the same day to improve club inclusiveness
• Categories for junior (U16 & U19), seniors (20-39 & 40+) and open
• Events are from the TWA state series or junior series to support TWA
• Compulsory events include State Club Champs (which we have won for the last 3 years) and/or State Schools Champs
• We have not included national and international events as the focus is on our local competition
The following table highlights the events used to determine the UWA Club Champions for 2008/2009:

- In order to qualify athletes must
- be a member of UWA Triathlon Club
- Compete in either the WA State Club Champs in Mandurah or State Schools Champs in Shelly, these events are not used in the point score, but will be used in the case of a tie.
- Members may do as few or as many of the events listed. However
- Best 4 races count for the seniors and
- Best 3 races count for the juniors
- Senior athletes include the following categories: Open, 20-39 years and 40+.
- Junior categories are 16-19 and U16
- Points are award on finishing position in relation to other UWA members.
For example: if I you and I were competing in the same category (20-39 years) and I finished 6th across the line, but first UWA member, and you finished 18th but second UWA member. I would receive 1st place points for the 20-39 category, and you 2nd place points.
- Points are: 10 points for 1st, 9 for 2nd… and 1 for 10th and 1 point for any finisher beyond 10th place.
