Name: Adam O’Byrne
Date of Birth: 12/8/80
Favourite food: Just Right
Favourite Movie: The Shawshank Redemption
Favourite Band: Stanton Warriors
Number of Years in Triathlon: 3
Reason for starting tri’s: A new challenge after my football career came to an early end.
Triathlon Hero (and why?): Craig Alexander, Kona Champ after starting tri’s later in life .
Favourite training session: Hills rides!!
Least favourite training session: Swim sessions with 3 sets of 10 x 100m repeats. That hurt. Swimming is hard for me!
Favourite Race: Busselton Ironman. Good memories and a great result in 2008 in front of friends and family. Plus Anna raced with me that year and seeing her do so well made it even better.
Hopes for 2009, and beyond (doesn’t have to be tri specific): Have a good result at the World Long Distance Champs, then get back into training for IM NZ 2010 and give it a crack to qualify for Kona.
If I wasn’t a triathlete I would…: Be a DJ smashing it up in clubs around the world!! Or more likely at a dingy pub in Perth somewhere.
5 Dream dinner guests (and why?): Anna cause as well as being gorgeous she is a great cook! Mike Stewart, bodyboarding legend, The Stanton Warriors for the music, Homer Simpson to have a Duff with, and I guess Miranda Kerr so Anna has another girl to talk to…
Claim to fame: Many…but I guess kicking 4 goals in a grand final off one leg in a near best on ground performance to end North Fremantles 43 yr premiership drought is one that sticks to my mind! Still a legend down at the old ‘Gil’.
Craziest thing you’ve spent money on: Anna…no she’s not crazy! I guess it would be beer…its poisonous to for your body, it wipes your memory, gives you a hangover, and yet you keep buying it!!
